Station full? Members park free.

Rolling up to a full station at the end of a ride can throw off your whole flow. You've arrived at your destination, but now you're circling the block, trying to figure out where to lock up to avoid the out-of-station fee. You told us you needed more flexibility, so we built a better way to wrap up your ride.
A new perk, just for members.
Starting today, Capital Bikeshare members can park ebikes near full or nearly full docking stations for free.
Here’s how it works
Check the station
Free out-of-station ebike parking applies when a station has three or fewer docks available.Park within 40 meters
Park your ebike as close to the station as possible for the most reliable connection.Lock and confirm
Secure your ebike with the cable lock and check the app to make sure your ride has ended. As always, please keep sidewalks clear and avoid no-parking zones shown in the app to prevent additional fees.
This update is part of our ongoing commitment to making trips faster, easier, and more reliable from start to finish. Happy riding!
Terms & conditions
Waiver automatically applies to ebike rides by annual Capital Bikeshare members and Capital Bikeshare for All members only. To qualify for the waiver, members must park within 40 meters of a full station. A station is considered full if it has three or fewer open docks. The station must have three or fewer open docks at the time of ebike locking and members must use the cable lock when ending the ride. The ebike must be parked within 40 meters of the station. Riders must lock ebikes to a public bike rack or other fixed object. Do not block sidewalks, ramps, or doorways. Classic bikes must be parked in stations at all times and this feature does not apply to classic bike rides. Bad parking fees still apply to areas designated by shaded areas in the app as no parking zones. Subject to the Capital Bikeshare Bicycle Rental Agreement and Liability Waiver.
